Fall in Love with your Lips-Lip Augmentation Demo with Dr. Chiu

Posted by chad on February 1, 2012  |   No Comments »

Lip augmentation, also known as lip filler, is one of the most popular treatments that Dr. Diane Chiu has specialized in for over 10 years.  She has an extremely high patient satisfaction rate and particularly loves the results she has seen from this procedure. Dr. Chiu is well known for her keen eye and attention to detail, especially when it comes to cosmetic injections. She has a reputation for giving her patients the most natural look possible, while achieving beautiful results. Her goal is to make sure people never leave her office looking like they had just had “work” done.

One of the great lasting effects of filler is its ability to stimulate natural collagen production, leaving the patient with results for up to a year.

When choosing a clinic for your lip augmentation you want to first consider the following:

1. What is the track record and reputation of your doctor?

2. How much experience does your doctor have performing this procedure?

3. What look are you trying to achieve? Having pictures to show your doctor can be helpful.

Here is a live demonstration of Dr. Chiu performing a lip augmentation on our model, Stephanie, using the product Juvederm.

Skin Tag Removal Methods

Posted by chad on December 17, 2011  |   No Comments »

Skin Tag RemovalSkin tag removal is a concern for many people. These small pieces of skin that stick out are something most people can’t avoid. Why? Because the older you get the more likely they are to appear. Common locations for skin tags include skin folds or wrinkles on the sides of the neck, underarms, around the eyes, and even on the groin area.

While skin tags aren’t necessarily dangerous and don’t always need to be removed for health reasons, most people are interested in skin tag removal for one of two reasons.

1. They just don’t like the way the skin tags look

2. Their skin tags cause irritation such as with rubbing on clothing or catching on jewelry

Luckily, removing skin tags is generally a painless and straightforward in-office process. This post looks at the two most common methods for removing skin tags: cryotherapy and snipping.

• Cryotherapy – Cryotherapy is an easy process that involves freezing the skin tag with liquid nitrogen. The low temperature of liquid nitrogen destroys the abnormal skin tissue by freezing it to remove it. A few days after a cryotherapy treatment, the skin tag simply falls off.

• Snipping – After anesthetizing the skin tag with a local anesthetic, the skin tag is snipped off with small curved scissors. An application of aluminum chloride quickly stops the bleeding.

Healing From Skin Tag Removal

There aren’t usually any side effects to removing a skin tag since they’re usually small and superficial. Patients typically go home with a simple Band-Aid covering the area, and home care may or may not involve using an over-the-counter ointment to reduce any pain or inflammation. It’s rare that a scar develops from removing a skin tag.

Should You Do It Yourself? No!

Some people believe removing a skin tag is something they can do at home on their own. This is dangerous thinking. One of the main reasons you should never try to remove a skin tag yourself is you may not actually have a skin tag. Many cancers or other types of tumor growths can often mimic a skin tag. That’s why it’s always best to consult a dermatologist to ensure a proper diagnosis.

Office treatments for removing a skin tag are also much safer that doing it yourself. They’re painless and will always give you the best results.

If you’re ready to finally get rid of those skin tags to give yourself a youthful new appearance, not to mention the irritation-free comfort of removing your skin tags, give Bellevue Laser & Cosmetic Center a call.

After ensuring your skin tag diagnosis, we can perform skin tag removal via cryotherapy or snipping to give you back your smooth skin, so call today.

Dermatologist Scar Removal – Getting Rid Of Acne Scars

Posted by chad on December 15, 2011  |   No Comments »

Dermatologist scar removal can help you if you’re a teen or adult dealing with acne. The look of acne scars is enough to take anyone’s self-confidence away, regardless of age. Not only can acne negatively affect the lives of those suffering with breakouts, the horrible pits and raised scarring it can leave behind can cause embarrassment that lasts a lifetime.

That’s why Bellevue Laser & Cosmetic Center makes dermatologist scar removal a priority in the services we offer. We’re experts in acne scar removal, and offer the most advanced treatments available. This post looks at the two types of acne scars, depressed and raised, in addition the best available treatment options.

Depressed Acne Scars

Several types of acne scars can appear whether you suffer from occasional or chronic acne, including depressed acne scars commonly known as pits. Dermatologists have worked for years to find a way to remove stubborn depressed pit scars, but it’s only recently that there are truly effective options.

Treatments for depressed acne pit scars include:

• Acne scar surgery
• Chemical peels
• Fillers
• Smoothbeam laser
• Laser skin resurfacing

The treatment that’s best for you depends on the severity of your scarring, but they’re all effective. Surgery is the most invasive solution and it requires a longer healing time. Laser skin resurfacing requires less downtime, with most patients returning to their normal activities quickly. Fillers provide immediate results, but they’re usually temporary. Chemical peels are a treatment that does exactly what it sounds like – it causes the skin to peel, revealing the fresh new skin underneath.

Raised Acne Scars

Dermatologist Scar RemovalAcne can also caused raised scars known as hypertrophic scars or keloid scars. The treatments for these types of scars is usually the same types of treatments for depressed acne scars with the addition of cryotherapy and perhaps some lotions or gels in certain situations.

Patients with raised acne scars run the risk of the healed skin turning a lighter shade than the surrounding skin, especially with cryotherapy. That’s why it’s critical to consult an expert with the experience to not only perform this excellent treatment for reducing raised acne scars, but to also know whether it’s an appropriate treatment for your specific scars and skin type.

Different Treatments For Different Skin Types

Regardless of the treatment you choose, keep in mind that scarring is individual – no two people scar the same. This means the methods of treatments can have different results on different people, so it’s critical to know what treatment will work best for you.

Tips For Dealing With Acne Scars

• Even after dermatologist scar removal, you need to keep increasing the health of your skin by protecting your skin with sunscreen every day, even if you’re not going to be out in the sun for a long time.

• Proper skin washing is essential to ensure acne doesn’t return and cause new scarring.

• Visit your dermatologist as soon as you have an acne breakout to keep it from getting worse or causing scarring. Your dermatologist may also be able to diagnose the cause of your acne if you visit during a breakout.
