Kybella
Kybella is an injectable product that causes permanent destruction of fat cells. It is made of deoxycholic acid (a substance found in bile) and is approved for treatment of the “double chin”. It typically takes 2-4 treatments every 4-8 weeks, depending on the volume of fat. Up to 6 treatments may be administered. 79% of patients treated with Kybella were satisfied with their results. The great thing about Kybella is that it literally only takes minutes to inject and you can immediately return to your normal activities. The average cost ranges from $1200-$1800 per treatment.

You may not be an ideal candidate for Kybella if you have significant skin laxity of the neck area with or without jowling. If you do, then the Precision TX laser may be a better alternative. If you have prominent plastysmal banding (the vertical muscular lines that extend down the front of the neck), these may appear more conspicuous after removing the fat. However, Botox can be used to soften these bands once the fat is removed. No matter what, at The Bellevue Laser & Cosmetic Center, we can help you find a solution. If your “double chin” bothers you, then make an appointment for a cosmetic consultation with one of our providers today to see if you are a good candidate for Kybella!
